in to the unknown
wild and weathered,
I am climbing
steep it is
under the piercing sun,
lost in the space
of the gorgeous nature
I’ve reached the top
In my determination,
In all my thoughts,
with a hope, I can
moving up high
dragging my body,
but, mind is restless
and ahead in its way
every drop of sweat
and each tiresome step,
puts me to the comfort
giving me more strength
I reach the destiny
proud and ecstatic,
I look back my way
and say, is this all?
amazed in awe,
gaining momentum,
rising up to the world
I look for the next

Rise is a nice title...
Good to keep oneself motivated.
All the best.

Good to see that your reaching the peak of Kumara Parvatha has inspired you to ask that ancient question: Is that all there is to life?
Daniel Dennet, the most prolific and widely read American philosopher in his book Darwin's Dangerous Idea contends that "life is a meaningless purposeless algorithm".
Even if life is as defined by Dennet one does not have to become fatalistic and accept what is.
I think it was Bernard Shaw (I have forgotten so much) who said: some people see things as they are and ask why? I dream of things that never were ask why not?
In that spirit we all need to find meaning and purpose by our own striving. Life is a precious gift not to be wasted neither with oppressive ideologies of karma and samsara nor with joyless ideology of consumerism.
West Churchman, the father of Operations Research, used to say: the important thing is not to come up with answers for trivial questions but ask the right questions.
You have asked the most profound question. Bravo!
Nice and inspiring poem!
Good one.
Srik, you have precisly picturized the feelings and emotions that we underwent during our jourey to the peak. I deeply appreciate your wording though!
Good One!!!
My Pick...
every drop of sweat
and each tiresome step,
puts me to the comfort
giving me more strength

Perfect lines and Perfect pic for a trekker :)
This time my comments go to the photographer instead of the poet/author. Beautiful photograph accompanying the poem :-)
