Bangalore: A visual anthology photo walk | Neralu 2015

The greatest advantage of volunteering is that you get to meet amazing people. I was absolutely thrilled to volunteer and coordinate the photo walk event during Neralu - Bengaluru Tree Festival this year ~ Bangalore: A visual anthology Photo walk led by Vivek Muthuramalingam, one of my favorite photographers!

It was a beautiful winter nippy Sunday morning to walk down the streets of South Bangalore - listening to wonderful stories of fellow photo walkers and witness some really interesting filter coffee conversations! We started at 7.30 am from the Vasavi Convention Hall, VV Puram; walked on the Vasavi Temple street and witnessed many old bungalows with typical old Bangalore architecture; walked around the beautiful Sajjanrao circle park; had coffee at Hotel Janata; walked up to the Ashwath Katte and finally ended our walk after having masala dosas and coffee at the New Modern Hotel. Some photographs uploaded below.

they turned black and white

Yet another opportunity to see these beauties in nature. For the love I have for this scenic habitat, although it appears dry, it is a spectacular sight whenever I see a blackbuck. The majesty and the elegance with which they observe you, perhaps! stare at you for staring at it is what makes me touched! Although I colored myself through my eyes seeing these heavenly creatures, I turned absolutely black and white. Some of the jewels I sighted on the day can never go off my memory!

Jayamangali Blackbuck Sanctuary - beautiful dry habitat

Huge tree and the mountains of Madhugiri at the back drop

A tree up to the sky

Beautiful dry leaves

it turned black and white

flowers of grass or the leaves of grass?

flying away from the honey!

Two robberflies(?) at play

Black and white - Yellow pansy

A male blackbuck running alone

they paired together this time

oh! let me jump away from you!

Staring at you! Elegance personified

Whenever they notice someone around, they stare at you making a good pose!

A male blackbuck trying to escape from my sight

It was a rare sight for me to see two of them play or fight!

I absolutely love the way they look! A majestic male blackbuck!

A Morning in Pondy

It was a long while
since I hit the shores
and here I was
standing on the bay
walking, talking
all alone
in the serene
auro beach one morning
I was there before the sun
I woke up before him
to welcome him to the world
of 'not enoughs'
with not enough light
and to lit
fishermen seemed very busy
in their own routine
of catching not-the-fish
but their food
by loading their boats
with again not-enoughs
of desires and demands
of those on the luxury land
becoming sel(f)ish
with life on control
a walk towards the serenity
perhaps, untied the best
to feel, to joy
to more

that it takes me to the new
breaking the barriers
of self and the imagined
with an open mind
to see

they waited for the light
and for their stuff
to make it a deal
not to lose hope
and the sun peeked out
to see those fishermen
and the world
to protect
and gift them good
making it colorful
like gold
like afresh, anew
spreading through the day
of many million lives
a richness to live
waves carry light
all the times
oscillating like life
back and forth
till the edge
until it is absorbed
by the world
people often get enlightened
going by its phenomenon
perhaps the only reason
why they crave for it
every day, every life
a time comes
for us to return to our world
out of the trance
enjoyed enough
without knowing 'not enoughs'
in the other world
and we tend to leave
no indications
of where we were
and what we did
and why
we often look back
and try to recall
those moments
of trance and gold
to be sure of
going back
perhaps
one more time
visioning what it is
on a long walk on a long beach
here I am
back to my own
journey of life!
